Now that winter is well and truly upon us, it is a good time to start to think about your vegetable garden and plan what you are going to plant, and when you are going to plant it.

Many plants that are routinely bought every Christmas, either for gifts or decorations. The health of the plants is almost always a secondary consideration, stuck firmly behind how the poor little specimen will look for the remainder of its short life.

Christmas is nearly upon us again, and whilst this is the season of joy and goodwill for families around the globe, the advent calendar represents a slow death march to many conifers!
