Washing Hoya Leaves
How do I wash Hoya leaves? Just water to clean the dust?
Hi Nancy,
I just use damp kitchen paper, which removes dust effectively. If I is really dusty, don’t be afraid to give it a shower, or leave it outside on a warm rainy day.
Daily misting helps too – you can even use a weak foliar feed to give your plant a nice boost.
I hope this helps,
Kindest regards,
Henry

Frosty Hoya Cuttings
Help!
I bought some cuttings and they arrived in the mail this morning.
Most have all yellow leaves and some lost all their leaves altogether. I have dipped them in KLN, a rooting hormone and watered with Superthrive. Do you think they will survive?
I believe they were healthy when sent, and got cold on the way here. They were sent from Florida to Saskatchewan, Canada. Even though we are having a warm winter, nights are minus 7 Celsius.
They would have been kept indoors overnight I would think?
Any hope for these poor little cuttings?
Thanks
Preya
Hi Preya,
I think you will have to keep your fingers crossed for them! Those night temperatures would kill even the hardiest Hoya – any water in them would freeze.
However, you may be lucky – keep trying them for a couple of weeks and only get rid of them when they have definitely died. A lot of plants have an amazing appetite for survival, so you may see new roots and shoots.
Good luck!
Kindest regards,
Henry
