Images of My Day
This post, along with the other posts in the ‘Images of My Day’ category simply consist of a few photos that I have taken today. I hope you enjoy them.
A Fly on a Stick
This fly was a remarkably good subject as it landed on the stick I was poking our barbecue with. I haven’t had the time to look up which particular type of fly this guy is but he is quite striking, if not a little intimidating!
Hoya bella in Full Bloom
This is the beautiful Hoya bella in full bloom. There are over a dozen flower umbels on it, all at various stages of development. As you can see it is putting on a superb show!
Ferline Tomatoes Grown from Seed
Despite the awful summer we’ve had in the UK, my tomatoes are starting to get their act together, including my lovely Ferline tomatoes. I have grown Ferline from seed for the first time this year, and I am very pleased with the results. The tomatoes are quite large, flavoursome and good in salads and cooking.
Grow Sungold Tomatoes from Seed
Sungold tomatoes are one of my all time favourites. Sungold grows into a bush of small orange tomatoes which are as sweet as a tomato gets, providing a burst of flavour when you pop one in your mouth. The size and sweetness of Sungold makes them great for kids pack lunches too.
Tigerella Tomatoes Grown from Seed
Another great tomato for the kids is Tigerella. I have got loads of these on the go now, and they are starting to pick up now that our weather is improving. Tigerella develop yellow strips when they have ripened up, making them an interesting addition to a salad. They are easy to grow indoors or outdoors and the seeds are incredibly cheap!
Water is Relaxing
Our pond is nicely tucked away in the corner of our garden, with various tall plants hiding us from the world when we sit by the pond. I love this part of our garden, with the trickling water and insect friendly plants making for a serene, relaxing atmosphere.
