Hoya imperialis
Hoya imperialis is a large growing Hoya. You can quite easily let it overtake a conservatory, where it will form an impressive display, especially when it is blooming. Be warned that Hoya imperialis bleeds if you cut it! If you break a leaf or stem, you will soon find white sap dripping all over your floor!
The tough leaves are relatively elongate and sometimes outlined with a light green or white. The leaves can grow to a foot in length.
When established, Hoya imperialis produces huge blooms worthy of praise. Thee individual flowers can be 3 inches across and are held in umbels of 6 or so.
This astonishing plant originates from The Philippines.
