Hoya kerrii
Hoya kerrii looks great growing up a wall through a trellis and can reach any size you let it. It develops many aerial roots which extract water from the air, and help anchor the plant into nooks and crannies that it encounters.
The flowers are relatively insignificant, given the amazing foliage, but they emit an undescribable aroma. The fragrance can get strong when in full bloom!
Hoya kerrii is most famous for its heart shaped leaves, which are often sold as cuttings on Valentine’s Day. Unfortunately, the leaf alone will not successfully produce a new plant, as some stem tissue is needed for correct propagation. The leaf may ‘exist’ for many years but it is incredibly unlikely that a Hoya kerrii leaf will develop into a new plant.
Hoya kerrii originates from Thailand and the surrounding areas.
