Hoya collina sp. Biaka beautiful test of my patience

Hoya collina sp. Biak

Hoya collina is a lovely plant. The foliage is strongly flecked and once it gets going, it establishes strongly.

As with many of the rarer Hoya, there has been much debate over the nomenclature of this plant. Many have bought and sold it as Hoya biakensis, but this appears to be a play on the name of the place it was found, on Biak in New Guinea. However, this has proved to be inaccurate and this amazing plant should be called Hoya collina sp. Biak.

I bought this plant about 5 years ago and have not seen it for sale since.

This sought-after Hoya originates from New Guinea and is well-suited to growing in baskets or pots.

It is a relatively small growing Hoya requiring very little space.

The distinctive leaves are absolutely stunning. It may be me getting carried away, but the flecks on the beautifully formed leaves make this one of the most visually pleasing plants I have ever owned.
